Newsletter for Gallagher Pool Service May
2005
Gallagher Gab
Gallagher Pools is fully into our peak season as
everyone is rushing to get their pool open. It has started to
get hot during the day with little sign of heavy rains. This creates
the perfect situations for algae to grow in pools with mesh covers!
If your pool has not already been protected, speak with a Gallagher
Pools associate about how to keep your pool clean and algae free,
whether or not you are ready to open it. We, as always, offer
free water testing for those who buy our chemicals. However, if
bringing a water sample, please make sure your pool has been circulating
for at least 8 hours. If your pool has not been properly circulated
before we test it, we may improperly diagnose your pool’s chemical
demands. Beat the rush and come in before all the last minute
pool openers rush in!
Remember our weekly chemical regiment for chlorine
pools:
-Make sure you keep tablets in your chlorinator or skimmer basket
and that they are dissolving normally
-Once a week you should shock the pool (if your chlorine is in
a normal range) with one pound of powder for every ten thousand
gallons. Double this if the chlorine is less than .5 ppm.
-Once a week you should also add 2 ounces of Algaecide 60 for
every 10,000 gallons.
-Check your chemicals on your home strips or test kit and ensure
that your P.H., alkalinity, calcium hardness, and Cyanuric acid
are balanced.
Baquacil Users: Keep your Baquacil and Baquacil
Shock levels at or above normal. Also remember to keep your water
clean and balanced.
Only you can fight the Spring mess! If you need
advice, please bring a circulated water test to the store, e-mail
us, check our FAQ on our website, or call the store. We will be
glad to help you get rid of your unwanted algae!
